LA28 Olympics: Travel Ban Won’t Stop the Games, CEO Confirms

Despite President Trump’s travel ban impacting citizens from twelve countries, the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games remain unaffected. This assurance comes directly from LA28 CEO Reynold Hoover, who spoke to Reuters on Thursday.

The ban, enacted as part of a broader immigration initiative, specifically exempts athletes and their support teams. Hoover emphasized the administration’s recognition of the Olympics’ significance, stating, “The important thing for us is that the federal government and this administration recognized the importance of the Olympics and the Games.”

He further clarified that a specific carve-out within the travel ban ensures unrestricted access for athletes, their families, and associated officials, guaranteeing the Games will proceed as planned.
