Manhunt Intensifies: Suspect in Minnesota Lawmaker Shooting Still at Large

A massive manhunt is underway for Vance Boelter, 57, suspected of fatally shooting former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, on Saturday. The attack, which occurred at the Hortmans’ Brooklyn Park home, also left Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, injured at their Champlin residence.

Authorities say Boelter, allegedly wearing a mask and impersonating a police officer, is the prime suspect in both shootings. The FBI has joined the state investigation, offering a substantial reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to his arrest and conviction. Images of the suspect were released to the public on Saturday evening, fueling the intense search effort now entering its second day.

The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the Minnesota political community and spurred a massive, multi-agency search to bring Boelter to justice. Details remain scarce as the investigation unfolds, but the urgency of the situation is undeniable.
