FBI Launches Leak Probe After Iran Strike Intelligence Report Surfaces

The FBI is currently investigating a leak of sensitive intelligence regarding recent U.S. strikes on Iranian sites, according to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The leaked assessment reportedly suggests that the strikes, carried out over a weekend, only temporarily set back Iran’s nuclear program by a matter of months, rather than completely dismantling it.

Speaking at the NATO summit in the Netherlands on June 25th, Hegseth stated, “We’re doing a leak investigation with the FBI right now because this information is for internal purposes, battle-damage assessments.” He further criticized media outlets, particularly mentioning CNN, for allegedly attempting to portray the operation in a negative light, countering that the strikes were, in his view, “an overwhelming success.”

When contacted by The Epoch Times for comment, the FBI responded in line with standard Department of Justice policy, stating that they “can neither confirm nor deny conducting specific investigations.”
