Jeffries Plays it Cool: Should Democrats Cozy Up to Musk After Trump Feud?

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries sidestepped a question on Friday regarding whether Democrats should leverage Elon Musk’s very public rift with Donald Trump. The query centered around the potential for forging political alliances with the tech mogul.

The tension between Musk and Trump ignited on Thursday over the contentious One Big Beautiful Bill Act. This budget legislation, having squeaked through the House last week, now faces Senate scrutiny. Musk, showcasing his alignment with the fiscally conservative Republicans, slammed the Trump-endorsed bill, labeling it bloated with pork-barrel spending and warning of a dangerous escalation of the national debt, which is nearing a staggering $37 trillion.
