Tensions between state and federal authorities have reached a boiling point following recent riots in Los Angeles. The unrest, sparked by federal immigration operations and President Donald Trump’s subsequent deployment of troops, has ignited a fierce power struggle.

The weekend witnessed widespread violence as protestors engaged in destructive acts. Reports detail protestors using chunks of broken cinder blocks and cement to attack law enforcement vehicles. Further escalating the situation, protestors hurled scooters and debris from freeway overpasses, set vehicles on fire, launched fireworks at officers, and created significant road blockages.

Some protestors were seen wearing masks and waving Mexican flags. The response has been significant, with over 2,000 California National Guard troops and 700 Marines currently stationed in the Greater Los Angeles area. President Trump authorized an additional 2,000 National Guardsmen on June 9th, stating that they will remain until the perceived danger subsides.
