In a powerful display of bipartisan unity, Pennsylvania Senators John Fetterman (D) and Dave McCormick (R) issued a strong condemnation of the recent surge in anti-Semitic attacks across the United States. Their joint statement, delivered on June 2nd at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute in Boston, followed two significant incidents targeting Jewish communities.
The immediate catalyst for their condemnation was an attack at a Jewish rally in Boulder, Colorado, which resulted in eight injuries. Reports indicate the assailant shouted “Free Palestine” during the assault, echoing a similar slogan used by the perpetrator in last week’s deadly attack outside a Washington D.C. museum that claimed the lives of two Israeli staff members.
Senator Fetterman described the current climate as one where anti-Semitism is “out of control.” He further emphasized the importance of unwavering support for Israel, stating, “We’ve lost the argument in parts of my party—and for me, that moral clarity, it’s really firmly [with] Israel.” This bipartisan condemnation underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgent need for a unified response to combat the rising tide of anti-Semitism in America.
