Pentagon Denies Iran Moved Uranium Before US Airstrikes

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has declared that there’s no intelligence indicating Iran relocated its uranium stockpile before recent U.S. airstrikes. During a press conference on Thursday, Hegseth stated, “I’m not aware of any intelligence that I’ve reviewed that says things were not where they were supposed to be, moved or otherwise.”

Hegseth also took the opportunity to rebuke media outlets for underreporting the success of the U.S. military operation targeting Iran’s nuclear program. He dismissed an earlier leaked assessment as low-confidence and outdated, emphasizing that newer intelligence paints a drastically different picture.

According to Hegseth, updated intelligence reveals significant damage to Iran’s nuclear capabilities, estimating a multi-year recovery period. He cited CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s statements to support this claim.
