Putin’s Ambitions: Joint Chiefs Chair Warns of Expansion Beyond Ukraine

Tensions remain high as the conflict in Ukraine continues. During a recent Senate hearing on June 11th, General Dan “Razin” Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, issued a stark warning regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin’s intentions. Testifying alongside Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth before the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, General Caine expressed his belief that Putin’s aggression wouldn’t end with Ukraine.

When questioned by Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) about the possibility of Putin halting his advance at Ukraine’s borders, General Caine gave a firm and direct response: “I don’t think he is.” This strong statement contrasts with the more measured response from Secretary Hegseth, who stated, “Remains to be seen.”

The hearing focused on U.S. military posture and global threats, highlighting the ongoing concerns surrounding Russia’s actions and the potential for further escalation. General Caine’s assessment underscores the gravity of the situation and the need for continued vigilance in monitoring Russia’s military activities and geopolitical ambitions.
