Trump Announces US-China Trade Deal: Rare Earths, Education, and Tariffs

Major Breakthrough in US-China Trade Relations

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on June 11th to announce a landmark agreement with China, concluding trade talks in London. This deal centers around securing vital resources and fostering educational exchange between the two nations.

A key component of the agreement involves China supplying the United States with essential rare earth minerals and full magnets. In return, the US will grant Chinese students access to its colleges and universities – a move President Trump described as something he’s always supported.

The president’s post boasted about the tariff structure, stating: “We are getting a total of 55% tariffs, China is getting 10%. Relationship is excellent!” (sic)

While the details remain somewhat scarce, the agreement is pending final approval from both President Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping. This development marks a significant shift in US-China trade relations and has the potential to reshape the global economic landscape. Further updates are expected as the deal progresses toward formal ratification.
