Ottawa to Host Canada’s First National Day of Prayer

Get ready, Canada! This July, Ottawa will become the epicenter of a momentous event: the very first National Day of Prayer. Scheduled for July 12th, this unprecedented gathering aims to unite Canadians in prayer for the nation and its leaders.

Organizers anticipate a powerful display of faith, with approximately 3,000 people expected to converge on Parliament Hill for a day of collective prayer. The initiative, born from the virtual prayer calls that blossomed during the COVID-19 lockdowns, represents a significant step towards fostering national unity through shared spirituality.

Faytene Grasseschi, a driving force behind this initiative and a prominent entrepreneur and humanitarian advocate, shared insights into the event’s genesis. Speaking to The Epoch Times, she described how initial online prayer calls during pandemic restrictions evolved into this ambitious nationwide gathering. “We simply invited people from across Canada to join Zoom calls and pray for the nation,” she explained, highlighting the organic growth and increasing demand for a large-scale, in-person event.

Mark your calendars for July 12th and prepare to witness a historic moment of national unity and spiritual reflection in Ottawa.
