Quebec Liberals Set to Choose New Leader This Saturday

This Saturday, the Quebec Liberal Party will elect a new leader at a convention in Quebec City. Five candidates are battling for the top spot, hoping to revitalize the party after significant losses in the past two provincial elections.

The leadership race has faced a challenging environment, competing for media attention amidst a federal election and ongoing trade tensions with the United States. However, party president Rafael Primeau-Ferraro expressed optimism about the level of engagement the race has generated.

In a recent interview, Primeau-Ferraro highlighted the party’s progress: “If we go back two years ago, the party wasn’t in the same position that we are today,” he stated. “We were able to attract quality candidates with competent teams. The party’s membership has even doubled!”

The outcome of Saturday’s convention will be crucial in shaping the future direction of the Quebec Liberal Party as it aims for a political resurgence.
