Trump Walks Back Regime Change Talk Amid Iran Cease-Fire

President Donald Trump issued a clarification on his stance towards the Iranian regime, stating that he doesn’t desire regime change in the country. This statement follows just two days after he hinted at the possibility on social media, a post that came amidst a suddenly announced cease-fire.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One en route to a NATO summit in Europe, President Trump responded directly to questions about regime change. He stated, “I don’t want it. I’d like to see everything calm down as quickly as possible.” He further elaborated, explaining that “Regime change takes chaos and ideally, we don’t want to see so much chaos, so we’ll see how it does.”

This apparent shift in rhetoric has raised questions about the administration’s overall strategy regarding Iran and the implications of the cease-fire. The situation remains dynamic, with international observers closely watching the developments in the region.
